Our Purpose

The purpose of Southwest Church Planting is to draw, develop and deploy leaders to plant healthy reproductive churches. Our focus is you, the lead church planting couple. Our aim is to empower you to plant the church that God has placed in your heart. This web site is a connection point for our ministry. We want to get to know you. Drop us a note or consider attending one of our upcoming forums. We understand the joys and heartache of the church planting journey. We'd like to come along side and help. We look forward to connecting with you soon. Southwest Chruch Planting is an interdenominational church planting movement launched by Chorus Church.

Our History

Southwest Church Planting (SWCP) was started by church planters who help others church planters plant successfully.
In 1991, Dave Reynolds started ShoreLife Church in Huntington Beach, California, which went on to plant several churches in Southern California. In 1998, Dave was invited by New Heights Church in Vancouver, WA to start a structured church planting center. The result: Northwest Church Planting was launched in 1998. Returning to Southern California in 2003, Dave began Chorus Church in Temecula, as a plant of New Heights Church and the Christian & Missionary Alliance. All shared the goal of seeing Southwest Church Planting emerge.

SWCP hosts monthly Forums where church planters enjoy interaction, practical training, worship and a free lunch. It's open to anyone involved in church planting. The Summit is our one-day conference that brings together leaders who focus on training and encouragement with a no guilt/no competition vibe. Our Assessment Centers provide an in depth process to assist pastors and their supporting agencies in determining God's leading in serving as a lead pastor of a church plant.

Working across denominations and step by step, SWCP is creating pathways that draw, develop, and deploy leaders to start healthy reproductive churches. We have one common goal: To help you plant successfully and receive a massive dose of encouragement along the way. It's tough out there.
